Donald William “Don” Crosen

Donald William “Don” Crosen, age 74, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va,, died on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Winchester Medical Center.

Born December 9, 1946, at Cacapon State Park, Omps, Morgan County, W.Va., he was the son of Terry John Kirch of Berkeley Springs and the late Mary Lee Crosen Kirch.

He was a Christian.

He attended Berkeley Springs High School.

He first worked as a machine operator on the Western Maryland Railroad and then at the Morgan County bus garage. He owned and operated Don’s Auto Body.

Don was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1483 and Risinger-Stotler V.F.W. Post #4019, both in Berkeley Springs. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #824 in Winchester and the Red Men Tribe #84 in Williamsport, Md.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from December 14, 1967 until his honorable discharge at the rank of E-5 on July 22, 1969. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Don thoroughly enjoyed his dogs.

In addition to his father, he is also survived by his daughter, Jamie Nichole Ryan, of Berkeley Springs; four brothers, Robert Miller, Dale Miller, Virgil “Rocky” Miller and Kenneth Miller, all of Berkeley Springs; two grandchildren, Alexis Michelle Albanese and Charles Keith Ryan, III, both of Berkeley Springs and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his son, William Keith “Billy” Crosen on January 2, 1993, and one brother, Roger Miller.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021, at the Word of Deliverance Church, 103 Honey Crest Drive, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., with Pastors Lisa Unger and Jack Hiles, Jr. officiating. Interment with military honors provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard will be in Greenway Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
