Donald E. Weller
Donald Edwin Weller, age 80, of Hancock, Md., died on Friday, October 16, 2020 at Doey’s House Hospice in Hagerstown.
Born July 30, 1940 in Hancock, Md., he was the son of the late Edgar E. and Bertha N. Weaver Weller.
He was a member of the Needmore Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Don was a 1958 graduate of Hancock High School and had worked, until their closure, as a cutter at Londontown Manufacturing in Hancock. He then worked as a truck driver with Washington County, Md.
He served with the U.S. Army during the early 1960’s and was a distinguished sharpshooter.
Don was a member of the Fulton County Sportsman’s Club in McConnellsburg, Pa. and Clear Spring American Legion Post #222.
He enjoyed bird watching, hunting and cutting firewood.
Don is survived by his wife of 19 years, Betty Ann Ramsey Weller, at home; his children, Barbara Lynn Strunk and her husband Michael of Hedgesville, W.Va., Donna Jean Souders and her husband Kevin of Hancock, and Alan Lee Galford and his wife Pamela of Granite Falls, Wash.; two granddaughters, Kailea McCormick of Hancock and Shelley Strunk of Hedgesville; three great-grandsons, Noah McCormick-Fischer and Cooper David Williams, both of Hancock and Kellian Michael Strunk of Hedgesville and many nieces and nephews. I
n addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jean Foster and two brothers, Carroll Weller, and James Weller.
Graveside funeral services with military honors provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard were conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Fulton County, Pa. Paster Frank Van Derhoof officiated.
