David Anthony Edwards, 29, of Goldsboro, N.C., formerly of Berkeley Springs, died on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at his home.
Born January 19, 1990 in Cherry Point, N.C., he was the son of Clifton Edwards of Florida and Gidget “Nicky” Bearup Edwards, Goldsboro.
He served as a Sargent in the U.S. Army Special Forces from 2008-2014, completing two tours in Afghanistan and Iraq.
He was a gamer.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancé, Candice Lancaster, Goldsboro; one son, Graysen Edwards, Tomball, Texas; one daughter, Amelia Edwards, Kinston, N.C.; one sister, Kearston Edwards, Pikeville, N.C.; maternal great-grandmother, Catherine “Kate” Riggleman, Berkeley Springs and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Janet Barney Bearup and Arnold Bearup and Robert “Joe” Clay; maternal great-grandparents, LaVerne and Buddy Barney and Loring “Short” Riggleman and his paternal grandparents, Albert and Helen Edwards.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and interment will be private.
