Carolyn M. Jones
1936-2020
Carolyn M. Jones, 83, of Fairfield, Pa. died Monday, March 23, 2020 at Shippensburg Health Care Center, Shippensburg, Pa.
She was born November 30, 1936 in Berkeley Springs, W. Va., the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Yost McCumbee.
Her husband, Lewis Edward “Louie” Jones died in 2013.
In her younger days, Carolyn was an accomplished guitar player who played in a band with her brothers and sisters. They played backup for Hawkshaw Hawkins, Red Foley, Eddie Arnold, Marty Robbins and the radio station WWVA. She loved all types of music.
Carolyn was also an avid fan of Hallmark movies, gardening and loved watching football and was a huge Redskins fan.
Mrs. Jones is survived by a daughter, Vickie Grinder of Fairfield, Pa. and her two boxers, Buddie and Charlie.
She was the last to pass of her brothers and sister.
Due to the COVID 19 virus a memorial service will take place at a later date.
