Betty Lee Yost Cohill Trittipoe

Betty Lee Yost Cohill Trittipoe, age 93, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at the Berkeley Springs Center LLC.

Betty was born February 10, 1927, in Berkeley Springs, she was the daughter of the late Leonard McClellan and Claudia Estella Stotler Yost.

She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Hancock, Md. and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Berkeley Springs.

Betty was a 1945 graduate from Berkeley Springs High School, Berkeley Springs and attended Strayers Business School.

She was a secretary for the FBI in Washington, D.C. and administrative secretary for 26 years at Washington County Board of Education, Hancock High School in Hancock, until she retired in 1982.

Betty devoted her free time to membership in many organizations, Washington County Retired Educational Personnel Association, Alderton-Dawson American Legion Auxiliary Unit #60, Risinger-Stotler VFW Auxiliary Post 4019, and Women of the Moose Chapter #1311, NARF, Master Gardeners of Morgan County, Cacapon Resort State Park Foundation, Hancock Historical Society, Foxglove Garden Club, 11th Airborne Division Association and many others.

Betty will be forever remembered by her daughter, Felicia Hovermale and husband, Terry; her son, Felippe Cohill, Jr.; her sister Luella Y. Andrews; grandsons, Gale E. Hovermale, Jr. and wife Lisa; Chester Hovermale; step-grandsons, Levi Hovermale and wife Tiffney; Jay McCarty and wife, Nicki.; great-grandchildren, Abi Hovermale, Sierra Hovermale, Tracer Hovermale and Jaedah Hovermale; step-great-grandchildren, Gunner Hovermale, Michael McCarty and Kelsey McCarty and their families, along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, Felippe B. Cohill, Sr. and Howard R. “Trix” Trittipoe; her brothers, Warren C. Yost, Dwight A. Yost, Bernard D. Yost, Leonard F. Yost and half-brothers, Gather Yost, Paul A. Yost, Edward Virgil Yost, Alfred M. Yost, Francis “Frank” Yost and her half-sisters Ester Yost, Mary Alice Martin and Ama Catlett.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 16 E High Street, Hancock, MD, with the Rev. Fr. John L. Lombardi as celebrant. Burial will be private.
