Betty J. Yost

1935-2018

Betty Jane Yost, 82, of Berkeley Springs, died Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born July 17, 1935 in Duffields, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Millard and Elsie Virginia Henry Seal.

She was a member of Calvary Bible Church in Berkeley Springs.

She attended public schools in Jefferson County.

She had worked for 27 years, as the housekeeping supervisor and a spa attendant at The Country Inn in Berkeley Springs.

She liked gardening, cooking, birdwatching, home shopping networks and cats.

Surviving are her husband of 65 1/2 years, Earl Franklin Yost, at home; her children, Tina Spring, Shepherdstown, Timothy Yost, Berkeley Springs, Kevin Yost, Clear Spring, Md. and Jeffrey Yost, Winchester, Va.; one sister, Alice Shackleford, Berkeley Springs; one brother, Charles Seal, Charles Town; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Ronald Yost, Larry Yost and Ricky Yost, Sr.; two sisters, Elsie “Sissy” Willingham and Maudie Nichols and two brothers, Thomas Seal and John “Sammy” Seal.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, April 6 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Berkeley Springs. Pastor Jack Hiles officiated.

Interment was private. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
