The Berkeley Springs wrestling team held a takedown tournament on Satuday, June 26, to help raise funds for two wrestlers going to compete in Fargo, N.D., in July.

The takedown tournament drew wrestlers from Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. The tournament saw two minutes for the K-5 division and three minutes for the middle and high school division. When the music started competing wrestlers had that allotted time to outscore their opponents by takedowns only. There were no pins, near-falls, reversals or escapes. These types of tournaments are fast-paced and can see wrestlers use a wide variety of takedowns to help secure points.

Representing Berkeley Springs in the event in the K-5 division were Josh Morgan, Xander Stotler, Kaiman Proctor and Bradley Colmus. Representing Berkeley Springs in the middle school division were Haven Ailor, Zach Burch, Jacob Morgan, Saul Williams, Kowen Proctor and Kaiden Proctor. Representing Berkeley Springs in the high school division were Isaac Harris, Evan Zombro and Kollin Sullivan (who wrestled for 84A).
