This past weekend Berkeley Springs junior Belle Harvey was the only runner representing Berkeley Springs High School at the Class A/AA State Cross Country Championships.
The talented junior was looking to add another state cross country medal to her already outstanding resume. Last year Harvey finished in fourth place.
This season Harvey battled with injuries that kept her out of action for several weeks. Despite the setback Harvey finished a respectable fourth last weekend at the Region I Championships to make a return trip to the WV State Championships.
However the course at Cabell Midland was a little more muddier and challenging this go round due to the rain the last few days before the state meet.
Harvey finished in 17th place with a time of 20:57.01 out of 133 runners.
