Cole Morris

Berkeley Springs High School baseball senior Cole Morris is an offensive threat at the plate. With a sweet swing and speed on the bases Morris helped contribute to a lot of wins for the Indians over the last three years on the diamond. Morris was just as valuable on the defensive side where he shined on the pitcher’s mound and in the infield.
Morris was named to the WV Class AA Honorable Mention All-State Baseball team and the Potomac Valley Conference (PVC) baseball team last spring.
Morris was also named the 2019 Morgan Messenger & Hancock News All-Area Baseball Player of the Year.
Morris batted .372 (35-94, six doubles, triple, 10 stolen bases, 17 RBIs and 34 runs). Morris had an on base percentage of .433 and a slugging percentage of .457. He went 5-4 on the mound for the Indians with a 2.80 ERA in 55 innings of work and struck out 45 batters. In the field he had 58 chances, one assist, had 53 putouts, turned three double plays and had a fielding percentage of .931.
If Morris had a spring baseball season the senior would have more than likely topped 100 career hits as a member of the Tribe program.
Morris finishes his Berkeley Springs High School athletic career with letters totaling one cross country, one football, four wrestling and four baseball.
In wrestling Morris finished as PVC champion, Class A/AA Region I runner-up and sixth in WV A/AA State Wrestling Championships and a career record of 177-44.
Morris has already enlisted with the WV Air National Guard and will be heading to basic training later this summer once he graduates. Once he finishes basic training, Morris plans to attend WVU.
