Arthur C. Waugh

1956-2020

Arthur Charles (A.C.) Waugh, age 64, of Anchorage, Alaska passed away on June 23, 2020 at his home.

Born April 6, 1956, he was the son of the late Jesse W. Waugh and Virginia Hunter Waugh.

A.C. was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was a 1974 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School and attended Shepherd College.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1980 -1990.

He was retired as a health and social services Fraud Investigator for the State of Alaska.

A.C.’s passions were theater, acting and singing. He was also an accomplished guitar, banjo and ukulele player. He performed several seasons of theater at the Malamute Saloon in Fairbanks, Alaska. He loved camping and fishing, but his main loves were his daughter, Laura, son, Chris, and his grandson, Gabriel.

A.C. loved to take cruises and met many people with whom he forged lifelong friendships.

He and his brother, Jesse, would often take two week-long cruises several times a year.

A.C. is survived by his daughter, Laura Ellen Morris of Anchorage, Alaska; one grandson, Gabriel Jackson Morris of Anchorage, Alaska; and the mother of his children, Joan Aulabaugh Waugh of Anchorage, Alaska. He is also survived by three sisters, Mary Virginia Beckman of Swanton, Maryland, Brigette Leigh Hausman of Cumberland, Maryland and Nora Elizabeth Dusing, of Berkeley Springs; one brother, Jay Willard Waugh of Berkeley Springs and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Lee Waugh on March 27, 1997; one sister, Nancy Evelyn Waugh; four brothers, Harold Robert Hansroth, Jr., Jesse Hunter Waugh, Thomas Edward Waugh and George Hollis Waugh.

A memorial service and celebration of A.C.’s life will be held Sunday, July 5, 2020 at 2 p.m. at the Duckwall Church of Christ, 85 Duckwall Road, Berkeley Springs, WV.
