Arthella J. Ganoe
1931-2019
Arthella Jane Ganoe, 88, of Hancock, died Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at her home while under the care of Hospice of Washington County.
Born March 23, 1931 in Berkeley Springs, she was the daughter of the late Oakley Alston and Lola Widmyer Michael.
She was a member of Hancock Assembly of God in Hancock.
She was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.
She worked for 32 years as a supervisor with London Fog.
She liked sewing, quilting, gardening and playing cards.
She had been a homemaker in recent years.
She is survived by one daughter, Kelly Ganoe, Hancock; one sister, Vada Conant of Texas; two grandchildren, Shannon Bowman, Little Orleans, Md. and Sean Bryner, Berkeley Springs; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon E. Ganoe; one daughter, Angela Bryner; one sister, Marian Young and three brothers, Elmo Michael, Sylvester Michael and Stanley Michael.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, April 5 at Hancock Assembly of God, Hancock. Pastor Donald Preston officiated.
Burial was in Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Fulton County, Pa. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
Arrangements were handled by Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Berkeley Springs.
