Anna A. Blackburn
1927-2018
Anna A. Blackburn, 91, of Great Cacapon, died Saturday, July 21, 2018 at her home while under the care of her daughters and Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born May 15, 1927 in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late Samuel Lawrence, Sr. and Anna Lader Pearce.
She attended Wesleyan Chapel in Berkeley Springs.
She attended public schools in Rosedale, Md. and had worked as a salesclerk with Montgomery Ward in Baltimore.
She liked to play cards and crochet.
Surviving are her children, Phyllis Curfman and Patricia Blackburn, both of Great Cacapon, Philip Blackburn, Jr. and John Blackburn, both of Windsor, Md., Lydia Brocato, Frederick, Md. and Frank Blackburn, Hanover, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Francis Blackburn, Sr. on January 13, 2015; two sisters, Emily Stewart and Mary Zahn and three brothers, John Pearce, Christopher Pearce and Samuel Pearce, Jr.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, July 24 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Berkeley Springs. Rev. William C. Swope officiated.
Interment will be at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, July 25 at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, 2150 Mount View Road, Marriottsville, Md.
