Andrew “Drew” Martin Shambaugh

Andrew “Drew” Martin Shambaugh

2007-2020

Andrew “Drew” Martin Shambaugh, 13, of Paw Paw, W.Va. passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020 at his home.

He was born January 26, 2007 to Keith and Alison (Moreland) Shambaugh of Paw Paw.

Drew was an amazing, helpful, kind and loving son, grandson, great-grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He captivated everyone with his beautiful smile.

He loved to run, read, play video games, watch You Tube, take vacations with his family, help his Pappy, and build Legos. He very much enjoyed the beach, sea turtles, eating (especially snacks and tacos) and just being himself at home with his family.

Drew never met a book he couldn’t finish or a science/social studies fair that he couldn’t win. He had a wonderful, witty sense of humor that he loved to use on his Momma, and he shared an amazing, unbreakable bond with his Nan. He loved to pick on and joke with his brother, Chase, who he taught to swim and always supported. Every year he looked forward to putting on a fireworks display with his Daddy, the start of cross country season, picking out a Halloween costume and helping his Grandma Helen decorate for Christmas.

In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by his little brother Chase Shambaugh; maternal grandparents, Ron and Lori Davis; maternal grandfather, Michael Moreland; paternal grandmother, Helen Shambaugh; maternal great-grandmother, Betty Weaver. A very special uncle, right next door Ian Moreland, who he lovingly nicknamed “Bean” at a very early age. Uncles, Pete (Susie) Shambaugh, Wade Shambaugh, Chip Shambaugh, Mike (Erika) Davis and Matt (Brittney) Davis; aunts, Kathy Jo (Deidre) Shambaugh and Teresa Shambaugh; many great aunts, uncles and cousins; his special extended family, the Fravels and his two cats, Taco and KitKat.

Preceding him in death were his paternal grandfather, Lindy Shambaugh and an uncle, Kenneth Shambaugh.

The family would like to thank Paw Paw Schools, staff and students, where Drew loved and was shown love by every teacher, coach and all of his friends.

We would also like to thank the Paw Paw community for the overwhelming love and support that they have always shown to our beautiful son.

The family received friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, October 4 at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, where a service celebrating Drew’s life was held Monday, October 5 at 4 p.m. with Wayne Bradfield and Pastor Earl Travis officiating. Private interment will be at Woodrow Cemetery.

Memorial contributions toward Drew’s final expenses may be made to the family, c/o Keith and Alison Shambaugh, P. O. Box 3, Paw Paw, WV 25434.

Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.kimblefuneralhome.com.
