Almeeta Rose McDonald Snyder

Almeeta Rose (McDonald) Snyder, age 88, of Little Orleans, Md., passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021, at Doey’s House, in Hagerstown, Md.
Born December 13, 1932, in Little Orleans, Md, she was the daughter of the late John Richard McDonald and Bertie Louise McDonald. She was the widow of Stanley Ernest Snyder, her husband for 62 years, who passed away on January 6, 2012.
She was employed as a picker/packer for Hancock Orchard for several years. She then became a stay-at-home mother and homemaker.
She was known as “Nanny” to all who knew her, and always asked if you were ready to “run around the block” or “go sled riding” with her.
She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog, Chris, and listening to Elvis music.
She is survived by two daughters, Robin Conrad, of Artemas, Pa., and Pamela McCarty and her husband, Richard, of Hampton, Va.; two sons, Douglas Snyder and his wife, Teresa L. (Johns), of Little Orleans, Md., and Tracey Snyder, of Flintstone, Md.; a sister, Ruth Whorton of Flintstone, Md.; eleven grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Larry Allen Conrad, Jr.; a son-in-law, Larry A. Conrad, Sr.; a daughter-in-law, Launa (Weimer) Snyder; a special great-nephew, Christopher N. Robinette; a brother-in-law, Charles Whorton; and a brother, Harry Richard McDonald.
The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., on Thursday, July 1, 2021, from 6 until 8 p.m., on Friday, July 2, 2021, from 2 until 4 p.m., and on Saturday, July 3, 2021, for one hour prior to the funeral services which will be held at 10 a.m. Rev. Milton Morris will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fairview Christian Cemetery, in Artemas, Pa.
