Adolph W. Swain

1933-2020

Adolph W. Swain, 86, of Hancock, died Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Doey’s House, Hagerstown.

Born August 20, 1933, he was the son of the late George and Nancy Booth Swain and the widower of Ruby I. Hull Swain, who died August 22, 2019.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He retired from the Maryland State Department of Transportation with more than 30 years of service.

He is survived by one son, Bruce Swain, Hancock; one step-son, David Helman, Hancock; one daughter, Shelly Swain, Martinsburg and two brothers, Gary Swain, Clear Spring and Stevie Swain, Pecktonville.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Swain and step-son, Barry Hull.

Graveside services were held on Tuesday, March 17 at Stone Bridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Hancock. Rev. Harry Strite officiated.

Arrangements were handled by Grove Funeral Home,  Hancock.
