1948-2021

Roger Glenwood Yost, age 73, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., passed away peacefully, at the same time as his wife, Carol Ann Yost, at Winchester Medical Center, on Monday, October 18, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

Born May 20, 1948 in Berkeley Springs, he was the son of the late Leslie and Adelaide Dailey Yost.

He was a Christian.

Roger was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

He served during the Vietnam War with the United States Army.

Roger worked as a truck driver with T.H. Compton, Pentoney Trucking, Horst Milk Transfer and Barrie & Stewart Trucking.

He was a member of the Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post #60, Jr O.U.A.M Council #117, both in Berkeley Springs and the National Rifle Association.

Roger enjoyed antiquing and spending time with his grandkids. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and his firearms.

Roger is survived by his children, Benjamin Aaron Yost and his companion, Anna Osborne of Berkeley Springs and Matthew Leslie Yost and his wife Amanda of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; three sisters, Patsy Pentoney, Wanda Fleece, both of Berkeley Springs, Caroline Keet and her husband Bill of Springfield, Mass.; two brothers, Dayton Yost and his wife Carolyn and Donnie “Snowball” Yost and his wife Bobby, all of Berkeley Springs; four grandchildren, Lili Flowers of Grand Canyon, Ariz., Savannah Yost of Bunker Hill, Heather Osborne and Sierra Osborne, both of Berkeley Springs and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Sanfield Yost; two sisters, Jacqueline McBride, Joan Yost; one grandson, Kyle Matthew Yost and one great grandson, Declan Osborne.

The family received friends on Friday, October 22, at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., where military honors were conducted by the Tri-State Honor Guard.
