John Francis Gusciora
John Francis “Gus” Gusciora, age 73, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the Berkeley Springs Center LLC.
Born September 27, 1947 in Stoughton, Mass., he was the son of the late Albin A. and Margaret Doris Goulart Gusciora.
He was a Christian.
Gus was a graduate of Stoughton High School.
He entered the United States Navy after graduating from high school. Gus served as Boatswain’s Mate aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, then went onto training recruits as a Recruit Division Commander at Naval Station Great Lakes.
Retiring in 1985, he and his family then settled in Mashpee, Mass., where he became a delivery driver. Moving to Berkeley Springs in 1994, he then delivered for Clark’s.
Retiring for the second time, he enjoyed woodworking, spending time with family and his beloved dogs, Ziggy and Ringo.
He was a member of the Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post #60 and Risinger-Stotler VFW Post #4019.
Gus is survived by his children, James R. Gusciora and his wife Tawana both of Berkeley Springs, Benjamin M. Gusciora and his wife Shawn both of Goodfield, Ill., and Renee Cooper of Stoughton, Mass., three sisters, Robette Carroll and Michelle Hinds both of Falmouth, Mass., Cheryl Beaton of Sandwich, Mass., seven grandchildren, Charity Sullivan, Adam Gusciora, Morgan Gusciora, Gabe Gusciora, Ryan Gusciora, Devyn Cooper, Neely Cooper, three great grandchildren, Olivia Sullivan, Kollin Sullivan, Maddix Sullivan, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Dean and Terry Gusciora.
Services and burial will be private.
