The West Virginia DHHR COVID-19 website reports the statistics under the “Vaccine Summary” tab at the top of their county alert map.

Weekly Morgan County Health Department vaccine clinics are being run by staff and volunteers at Warm Springs Intermediate School in Berkeley Springs, and the Berkeley Springs Walgreens is administering vaccines.

On Saturday, March 13 alone, 585 vaccine doses were administered to county residents. That includes first and second doses.

This past Saturday, 248 doses were given. Of those, 240 were first doses, according to DHHR data.

Residents who signed up on the county’s or state’s registry system to get the vaccine continue to be scheduled for the first and second doses.

There is a three to four-week wait time between doses, based on the particular vaccine.

Last week, Walgreens announced residents could contact the pharmacy directly to get on their vaccination list.

Customers can call the store directly for a chance to grab an available appointment due to a cancellation. Walgreens is still working with the state registry list to vaccinate those who are on the waiting list already.

Under the West Virginia vaccination guidelines, individuals over the age of 50, those with health risks and essential workers are now eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine. Vaccine shots are free to residents.

According to state data, the largest number of vaccinations have been given to residents 65 and older, as the state’s plan dictates.
