Estalene Y. (Mellott) Crouse
Estalene Yvonne (Mellott) Crouse, 85, of Needmore, Pa., passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Chesapeake, Va. at the home of her daughter, Donna Dildy.
Born May 31, 1935 in Needmore, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Olive Belle (Layton) Mellott and Wallace Franklin Mellott and the widow of Leonard Mack Crouse.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna Dildy of Chesapeake, Va.; one son, David Crouse and wife Debbie (Hendershot) Crouse of Warfordsburg, Pa; one brother, Daryl Mellott and wife Dotti (Hendershot) Mellott of Chambersburg, Pa; one daughter-in-law, Denise (Shank) Crouse of Needmore, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Shauna (Crouse) Fishel and husband Brent Fishel of Martinsburg, W.Va., Justin Crouse and wife Michelle (Hartmann) Crouse of Amissville, Va., Andrea (Crouse) Peterson and husband Tanner Peterson of Las Vegas, Nev., Emmaline (Crouse) Mosier and husband Kody Mosier of Needmore, Pa, Cameron Crouse of Needmore, Pa, Yvonne, Hilary and Rachel Dildy of Chesapeake, Va; 11 great-grandchildren, Madison, Brody and Marley Fishel, Colt, Ryder and Lila Crouse, Maddex, Presley, Elliott, Ari and Jones Peterson; one niece, Kristi Klobylinski and two nephews, Gary Peck and Sam Mellott.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Mack Crouse; one daughter, Diana Crouse; one son, Danny M. Crouse; and one sister, Betty (Mellott) Peck. Estalene was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Hancock, Md.
She was strong in her faith and loved attending her meetings.
She enjoyed working in the nursery for many years and meeting with the women’s group for quilting and Bible study.
She loved her grandchildren and always supported them in their school and community activities. She worked hard all of her life.
She loved working in the garden, house cleaning for others and helping neighbors and friends in the community. She was kind and thoughtful to all, especially to those less fortunate. She will be greatly missed.
Due to the current circumstances, a Celebration of Life will be private, at the discretion of the family.
