Eva Monetta Kidwell
Eva Monetta Kidwell, age 93, of Great Cacapon, W.Va., died on Monday, October 12, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Berkeley Springs.
Born August 27, 1927 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Harry Marshall and Ethel Lee Crouse Hiles.
She was a member of Love Assembly of God where she was highly active in church affairs.
Eva attended public schools in Berkeley Springs and had worked seasonally at local canneries.
She was a substitute cook with Morgan County Public Schools and a homemaker.
She enjoyed sewing and cooking.
She is survived by her children, David Junior Kidwell and Dixie Darlene Thomas, both of Berkeley Springs, three brothers, John Hiles of Berkeley Springs, Curtis Hiles and Dan Hiles, both of Manassas, Va., one sister, Linda Lyons of Manassas, six grandchildren, Roxanne Kidwell, Dawn Jacobsen and Christy Hull, all of Berkeley Springs, Amy Force of Inwood, W.Va., Christin Fischer of Sharpsburg, Md. and Christopher Thomas of Hancock, Md., eight great-grandchildren, Brandon Jacobsen of Springfield, Va., Vernon Jacobsen III of Eustis, NE, Dylan Jacobsen of Burlington, NJ, Eva Jacobsen and Trent Fischer, both of Berkeley Springs, Alexis Fischer of Sharpsburg, Natalie Thomas and Daniel Thomas, both of Hancock and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Earl Junior Kidwell on February 28, 2008, her siblings, Betty Farris, Jack Hiles, Ruth Costello and Leroy Hiles.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Love Assembly of God, 31 Buzzard Acres Lane, Berkeley Springs, WV. Interment will be in Mt. Nebo Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Love Assembly of God.
