The Berkeley Springs High School Lady Indians Varsity Basketball Team picked up three wins out of four games during the
December 19 Berkeley Springs hosted Grace Academy out of Hagerstown, Md. The Lady Indians were able to secure the 42-36 win behind sophomore Harly Didawick’s 13 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Sara Veara added 10 points, junior Caybrie Clatterbuck added eight points, junior Ty’aira Mifflin had five points, five assists and three steals and junior Karalyne Banks added one rebound in the win.
The Lady Indians traveled to Faith Christian Academy on Friday, December 20 and improved their record to 3-1 with a 39-36 win. Clatterbuck led the Lady Indians with 15 points (3-3 pointers) and two steals. Veara (eight points and three rebounds), Mifflin (five points, three rebounds and three steals), Molli Hogbin (five rebounds), Emily Staebler (three rebounds and two steals) and Banks (two steals) added in the win.
This past weekend the Lady Indians traveled to Hancock, Md. to take part in the Hancock Mixer. Berkeley Springs played the Hancock Panthers Friday night, December 27 and picked up their fourth win of the season with a 55-31 win over the host school.
Berkeley Springs was led by Mifflin who finished with 23 points and six rebounds. Clatterbuck added 10 points, nine assists and nine rebounds just barely missing out on her first career triple double. The Lady Indians hit seven three-pointers in the win over the Lady Panthers.
The Lady Indians played Bishop Walsh out of Cumberland, Md. Saturday evening,
December 28 and lost 68-41.
Mifflin led the Lady Indians with 17 points while freshman Hogbin added eight points in the loss. Berkeley Springs is currently 4-2 for the season.
Up next for the Lady Indians is a long road trip on Saturday, January 4 at Philip Barbour. Then on Monday, January 6 the Lady Indians will travel back to Hancock for a 5 p.m. contest.
