Mona DeMarinis, age 81, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Monday, October 7, 2019 at War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.
Born July 18, 1938 in Astoria Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Rose Loshigian Asfar.
She was a Christian.
She was a homemaker all her life to her husband, children and family.
Mona enjoyed flower gardening, eating out, shopping, traveling, doing needle point, going to car shows and cruise-ins with her husband, and she was an animal lover, especially her dogs and cats.
Mona is survived by her husband of 61 years, John DeMarinis at home; her children, Maritza Rose Miller and her husband Steve, John Paul DeMarinis and his wife Angela all of Berkeley Springs; one step-sister, Annie Kligopoulos of Texas; six grandchildren, Vanessa Rose Fox and her husband Derrick, Stephanie Alyssa Miller and her companion, EJ Norris, Jonathan Daniel DeMarinis, Jordin Sue DeMarinis, Jasin Paul DeMarinis all of Berkeley Springs, Amanda Lea Miller and her fiancé, Sam Simpson of Morgantown, W.Va.; three great-grandchildren, Meghan Rose Fox, Taylor Lillian Fox and Avery Deion Simpson.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV with Pastor Timothy B. Close officiating. Burial was in Greenway Cemetery.
The family received friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
