Rayetta Larue Gordon, age 77, of Berkeley Springs, WV, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at her daughters home surrounded by her loving family while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born November 1, 1940 in Hancock, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Edgar Elise Smith and Helen Louise (Davis) Smith.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1958 in Hagerstown, MD.
She was a self-employed seamstress. She enjoyed golfing, painting and crafts.
She is survived by one daughter Julie Rae Bishop and her husband Lonnie of Berkeley Springs; one son, William Bently Gordon and fiancé Payal Sangavikar, of Hagerstown, MD; one sister, Vivian Arlene McCall, of Hagerstown, MD; two brothers, Ronnie Smith and wife Elain of Hagerstown, MD and Garry Smith and wife Cheryl of Baltimore, MD. She had two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by her husband Paul W. Gordon in 1975 and one son, Brian L. Smith.
Memorial Services will be conducted on June 6, 2018 at 6:15 p.m. at Alpine United Methodist Church on Pious Ridge Road with Pastor Kenny Mason officiating.
Burial will be private.
