Bernard Elroy Johnson, 83, of Berkeley Springs, died Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at The Berkeley Springs Center LLC.
Born January 22, 1935 at home near Spohrs Crossroads, W.Va., he was the son of Della Mae Clark Johnson, Berkeley Springs and the late Willard Elroy Johnson.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a 1954 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School and worked from 1952-1997 with Berkeley Club Bottling Company.
He liked to work on vehicles.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Kathy Helmick, Hancock and Patsy Brinegar, Falling Waters, W.Va.; one sister, Peggy Peck, Berkeley Springs; six grandchildren, Erica Waugh, Inwood, W.Va., Megan Bowlding, Bowie, Md., Amy Marshall, Derek Helmick and Jeffrey Brinegar, all of Martinsburg, W.Va. and Chad Brinegar, Berkeley Springs; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alta Lorenea Kidwell Johnson on December 9, 2012; one son, Randy Johnson; one sister, Anna Johnson and one brother, Herbert Johnson.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 5 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Berkeley Springs. Pastor Dave Kidwell officiated. Interment was in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery.
