Berkeley Springs as Camelot
Dear Editor:
When my mother and I came out of the movie theater from seeing “Camelot” years ago, I said, “Someday I will live in Camelot.” Mom said, “I don’t think there is such a place. You are still very young. Don’t set yourself up for disappointment.”
Fast-forward to 2012. Having lived in Morgan County going on 35 years and counting, I was not surprised when I read in The Morgan Messenger that not many county inhabitants would sell the soul of our county through gas leases and fracking.
The Earth is a living cell within the cosmic body. The universe is a life form that keeps changing and rearranging itself. It is truly alive. We receive our chance to live on this planet by the grace of the “Great Spirit.”
Berkeley Springs is Camelot!
West Virginia is not only a state of being, but is also a state of mind. Therefore there must be millions, if not billions, of West Virginians living on every continent.
We should take care of the planet, but there is a force that relishes destruction of the earth. Every time we destroy parts of the Earth, the “Great Spirit” weeps. May I suggest that we band together and protect Mother Earth from its demise due to our out-of-control human behavior.
My Mother died here. She said before passing on, “You really have found the ideal place to live. Camelot is a reality.”
