Martinsburg Social Security Office moving August 20

The Social Security office, located at 400 Foxcroft Avenue, Suite 102 in Martinsburg will relocate to 14 Compass Pointe in Martinsburg. Business operations at the Foxcroft Avenue office location will end after closing at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, August 17.

Starting Monday, August 20, residents previously served at the Foxcroft Avenue office location will be served at the Compass Pointe location. Office hours at the new location will remain the same: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

“The new office offers several features to enhance service to Eastern Panhandle residents,” said office manger, Danielle Jackson. “We will have a larger reception area and a self-help station will be available where people can use SSA online services. The interviewing areas provide greater privacy when speaking with a representative. And, the Office of Disability Adjundication and Review, which conducts Social Security hearings, will be co-located in the building,” Jackson said.

Since the office location is in a newer development, Jackson wants residents to know how to locate the office. Morgan County residents who travel to Martinsburg on WV 9 will follow that road approximately 0.6 miles past I-81 on Edwin W. Miller Blvd to Lutz Avenue (Comfort Inn and La Trattoria Italian Eatery are located at this intersection). Turn right on Lutz Avenue and travel approximately 0.2 miles to 14 Compass Pointe on right (first building past the law offices of Crawford & Keller).

Most Social Security services do not require a visit to an office. For example, anyone wishing to apply for benefits, sign up for direct deposit, replace a Medicare card, obtain a proof of income letter or report a change of address or telephone number may do so at the website or by dialing toll-free at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778).
