Position abused?
Dear Editor:
I’m writing over my concern that Commissioner Brenda Hutchinson abuses her position as county commissioner to take her friends and spouse into county areas that are not necessary. I spoke on this subject at the last county meeting. I personally believe that she is trying to get the county into a lawsuit over the Animal Control issue. She will not stop at any cost until she has accomplished this!
She states it’s her right as commissioner. I beg to differ. It’s not her job to encourage people to go to extremes. I brought up the fact in the last meeting regarding the incident with the puppies. It smelled like a set up to me, and she starts her famous bi-weekly campaign speech.
Amy Lane’s letter in The Morgan Messenger stating that they had gone without water all weekend was proven wrong at the last meeting. They were checked over the weekend and the air conditioning was on Sunday night.
It is strange how the meeting before I asked the question, “Had there ever been any formal charges brought up on the kennels in the past?” The answer was no, and then the next week there are charges leveled against the county. Something smells and it’s not from the kennels!
Another concern has come out, that I brought up a little over a month ago. She brings her husband into the courthouse through the employee entrances, so he does not have to go through the security. Is he more privileged than anyone else in the county? I suppose she believes it’s her right as commissioner to do as she pleases.
I say that it’s time Commissioner Hutchinson understands that she has no more rights than anyone else and to abuse the power we gave her is unacceptable. She does have someone to answer to, the taxpayers of this county.
I would also like to commend Commissioner Brad Close on his comments on the animal control cost in the last meeting, he was correct in pointing out that there is no such thing as free money. I am glad at least two of our commissioners are not walking around with blinders on.
I’m glad former Commissioner Tommy Swaim is reminding Hutchinson of her promise to the county that the money she tried to use to build an animal kennel would not be touched for any thing but to pay down the debt on the courthouse. Glad someone remembered!
