Meeting to discuss storm response

A “Lessons Learned” meeting will be held Thursday evening, July 19 in the Morgan County Courthouse to discuss how county agencies responded to the severe storm of June 29.

The meeting was scheduled by the Morgan County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management to hear public input regarding the windstorm that affected most of the county.

“We hope to improve response to future disasters by reviewing issues and feedback from this event. County and town residents, emergency services organizations, governmental agencies and utilities personnel are welcome to attend, said Director David Michael.

State review
On the state level, Governor Earl Ray Tomblin has also announced a review of storm and emergency response by state agencies, county emergency management offices, 911 centers, National Guard, utility companies, hospitals, nursing homes and volunteer organizations.
