I recently attended a Morgan County Commission meeting for an interview to sit on the Morgan County Board of Health. I could not believe the unprofessional and hostile way Commissioner Brenda Hutchinson treated the other commissioners, another gentleman applying for the planning board, and myself.

I have been in the nursing field for 22 years, hold a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and for the past six years have been a public health nurse in a neighboring county. I thought that volunteering for the Board of Health would be a way of offering my expertise to my community.

I was appalled by the lack of professionalism shown to residents of our community who are willing to give of their time to support their community with their knowledge. I feel volunteering is very important and I am involved in numerous non-profit organizations.

Commissioner Brenda Hutchinson, shame on you!
