M. Joseph Shambaugh

M. Joseph Shambaugh, 68, died at his residence in Paw Paw, on Thursday, June 28, 2012.

He was born April 2, 1944 in Magnolia, and was the son of the late Marion Ike and Essie Brown Shambaugh.

He was retired from CSX Railroad Corporation after 34 years of service.

He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Orleans Crossroads, where he was a trustee and children’s Sunday School teacher as well as a teacher of the Paw Paw United Methodist Disciple Club.

He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way; N.A.R.V.R.E. Units #022 and #103; Morgan County Hunting Club; Jr. OURAM Council #117 of Berkeley Springs and the Paw Paw Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Appold Shambaugh, whom he married September 4, 1962; two sons, Joe Shambaugh, Jr., Oldtown, Md. and Darren Shambaugh, Paw Paw; one daughter, Lisa Shambaugh Hardt, Paw Paw; six grandchildren, Heather Shambaugh Preston and Nathan Shambaugh, both of Oldtown, Tyler Ben Hardt, AReEtta Shambaugh, Jesse Hardt and Michael Shambaugh, all of Paw Paw; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Luther Jock Shambaugh, Paw Paw and Dean Shambaugh, Magnolia; two sisters, Debbie and Sue Shambaugh, both of Magnolia; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Shambaugh and a brother, Floyd “Cook” Shambaugh.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 1 at Lighthouse Assembly of God Church with officiant Richard Voohar.
Interment was at Camp Hill Cemetery at Paw Paw.

Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church at Orleans Crossroads, WV or Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Kimble Funeral Home in Paw Paw.
