Hearing set about Paw Paw sewer bond

A public hearing will be held at Paw Paw Town Hall on Monday, July 2 at 7 p.m. regarding a bond ordinance for the Town of Paw Paw public sewer system.

The ordinance authorizes the acquisition and construction of specific extensions, additions and improvements to the Town of Paw Paw’s public sewer system. It also permits the issuance of no more than $750,000 of sewer revenue bonds to finance the sewer system improvements and sewer line replacements.

According to the town’s public notice, the bonds are payable only from net sewer system revenue. No taxes are allowed to be levied to pay for the bonds or the interest that accrues on them.

The ordinance was approved by the Paw Paw Town Council on June 4. The town plans to adopt the ordinance after the public hearing with its final reading.
