Cheryl L. Crawford

Cheryl Louise Crawford, 62, of Berkeley Springs, died Sunday, June 24, 2012 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born January 17, 1950 in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of Reinhold Meiler of South Carolina and the late Lottie Merreen Sheckells Meiler.

She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs.

She attended Lansdowne High School in Baltimore.

She retired in February, 2011 after 24 years of service with the Environmental Services Department of Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.

She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter #1311 in Berkeley Springs.

She had been a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Brooklyn, Md. where she had served as president of the Women’s Auxiliary.

She liked dancing, singing and was an avid Elvis fan.

She is survived by her husband of 46 1/2 years, Ernie Gene “Johnny” Crawford, at home; three daughters, Vicki Louise Nash, Cross Junction, Va., JoAnn Merreen Crawford, Great Cacapon and Crystal Charmagne Greene, Berkeley Springs; three grandchildren, Scott Charles Stotler and Charles John Stotler, both of Great Cacapon and Cheyenne Merreen Sager, Berkeley Springs; two sisters, Deborah Merreen O’Brien, Severna Park, Md. and Patricia Charmagne Funt, Berkeley Springs; one brother, Bruce Wayne Meiler, York, Pa. and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie Meiler.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 28 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs with the Rev. Brett A. Bever officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home which will be open from 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
