Angela Bryner Memorial Scholarship Fund Celebration

The Angela Bryner Memorial Scholarship Fund will host an event at the Berkeley Springs High School auditorium on Saturday, July 14 at 7 p.m. in celebration of the scholarship’s namesake, Mrs. Bryner, past scholarship recipients and future award winners.

The Angela Bryner Memorial Scholarship was created in 1998 with the passing of Bryner. She served for over 22 years at Berkeley Springs High School as a music teacher, chorus director and guitar instructor. Bryner hosted numerous events at the school and in the community with her many talented students and was a favorite for many.

In her memory and at her request, a scholarship was developed to help young high school graduates begin their collegiate careers. Initially, the scholarship targeted students who wished to pursue a college degree in music, music education or education.

After being reformed as the Angela Bryner Memorial Scholarship Fund, the award changed as well and in 2011, the fund offered the first Angela Bryner Performing Arts Award.

Since the award began, it has been entirely funded through donations of Bryner’s former students, colleagues, local businesses, organizations and family members and all monies collected have been used toward the $500 scholarship award.

On July 14 everyone can remember Angela Bryner’s life and legacy and help the fund continue to exist in her honor while attending several performances from past scholarship recipients.

All are welcome, take a story about her to share.

Suggested donation will be collected at the door.
