Nancy White is United Way Volunteer of the Year
Each year United Way recongizes that person who makes a difference in the community through their volunteer efforts with United Way. Tina Combs, the 2011 United Way Volunteer of the Year presented the 2012 award to Nancy White, treasurer of the Morgan County Board of Education.
White is a selfless and untiring volunteer. She never misses an opportunity to help; annual compaign, Day of Caring, finance committee, annual audit committee and other special committees of United Way.
This volunteer has done it all and sets the example for community volunteerism while never asking anyone to do something that she wouldn’t do.
She has increased the effectiveness and reachy of Day of Caring; her compassion, expert skills, and ability to engage and organize others, have made her an invaluable force during their annual day of community service.
In many ways, she is the heart of Day of Caring in Morgan County. For several years she has been making an impact on the campaign and has worked diligently for Morgan County’s continuing growth in its annual campaign.
She never misses an opportunity to help United Way and the communities are stronger because of her work.
The mission of United Way of the Eastern Panhandle Inc. is to mobilize the community through volunteerism, advocacy and resource development to improve the education, income and health status of residents in Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan counties.
