Ada F. Henry
Ada Frances Henry, 93, of Berkeley Springs, died Monday, May 28, 2012 at her daughter’s residence while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born October 26, 1918 in Morgan County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Ellsworth and Carrie Frances Rankin Yost.
She was a member of Trinity-Asbury United Methodist Church.
She was a graduate of Bath District High School.
She had worked at the Interwoven Mill, local tomato canning factories including Little Miss. She clerked for Rumsey Unger Store, Dugan’s Supermarket and Jr’s Supermarket.
She was a former member of Berkeley Springs Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and former member of Berkeley Springs Women of the Moose Chapter #1311.
She liked quilting, rug making and crocheting.
She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Jean “Doodles” Smith and Sandra L. McCoy, both of Berkeley Springs; one son, Vernon Garrison “Gary” Henry, Asheville, N.C.; one sister, Mary Louise Stein, Berkeley Springs; 10 grandchildren, Penny Sue Spruill, Pamela Jo Stotler, Rhonda Michelle Bellows, Dale Eugene Henry, D.K. McCoy, Robert Shane Smith, Tony Patrick Henry, Sabrina Nicole McCoy, Stephanie Lynn Rogers and Erica Richelle Hovermale; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In additional to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Thomas Henry in 1999 and three brothers, Preston G. Yost, Belmont F. Yost and Stanley E. Yost.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 2 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, with Rev. Richard Craig officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 1 at the funeral home.
