Harry F. Fischer
Harry Frederick Fischer, 79, of Hedgesville, W.Va., died Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born February 5, 1933 in Hazelton, Pa., he was the son of the late Harry William and Edith Elizabeth Kilmore Fischer.
He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church in Berkeley Springs.
He was a graduate of Hazelton High School, Hazelton and then served with both the U.S. Navy and as a Corporal with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post #60 in Berkeley Springs and the American Legion in Sellersville, Pa.
He retired from EMC in Doylestown, Pa.
He was an outdoorsman and liked to play the lottery.
Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Mary Kathryn Keefer Fischer, at home; two sons, David Michael Fischer, Peoria, Ariz. and Robert Harry Fischer, Sellersville; one daughter, Sandra Kay Luckenbaugh, Winchester, Va.; two sisters, Carolyn Fareller, Limerick, Pa. and Florence Neizer, Phoenixville, Pa.; 14 grandchildren, Michael Fischer, Bishop, Texas, Tessa Kohn and Ross Kohn, both of Berkeley, Calif., Christina Fischer, Sara Fischer and Robbie Fischer, all of Sellersville, Ashley Louise Weidner and Robyn Mae Weidner, both of Gardners, Pa., Samantha Abigayle Luckenbaugh, Gettysburg, Pa., Victoria Winona Tyler, Warfordsburg, Pa., Steven Allen Ward, Jr., Pottstown, Pa., Nicholas Casper Ward, Baltimore, Md., Corey Boyd Beck and Kyle Kenneth Greory Beck, both of Beech Creek, Pa.; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Annette Ward; one son, Steven Allen Ward, Sr. and one sister, Betty Young.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon on Friday, May 25 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Liberty and S. Washington Streets, Berkeley Springs with Rev. Fr. Leonard A. Smith as celebrant. Military honors will be provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard. Interment will be private.
