Stargazing party Friday

Morgan County Observatory Foundation is hosting a public star parties this Friday evening May 18 beginning at 8:30 p.m. at the observatory on the grounds of Greenwood Elementary School. Learn to find your way around the night sky using star maps which will be provided.

Dress for the weather as the observing room where the telescope resides is not heated or cooled. Also, will be going outside for short periods to conduct a constellation tour of the night sky. Remember that if it’s significantly cloudy or raining, we will not be able to use the telescope and an alternate program will be available. Movies, refreshments and hands on astronomy activities help make an evening for all ages.

Greenwood and Pleasant View Schools, Leslie Milbourne & Wind Dance Farm, and the RESA VIII Head Start are recent supporters of the observatory. MCOF is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit and all donations are fully tax deductible.
