New county schools website is online
Morgan County Schools has launched their new website, which has a scrolling slideshow of school photos, a drop-down menu bar and extensive central office department information.
Department web pages feature personnel photos and contact information as well as helpful links and commonly requested forms.
The school system’s new logo, “Every Child, Every Day” is visible beside their “learning for all” mission statement. A short video with School Superintendent David Banks welcomes visitors to the website.
Resources for parents and employees and log-in links for software used by teachers and students are posted. Former features such as school policies, individual school websites, immunization information, the bullying video, the county school calendar and other school news are also included.
The website will have upcoming emergency announcements about school closings and other urgent messages. They’ve also added a Twitter account and an RSS feed (Really Simple Syndication) so people can receive updates about school events, two-hour delays and emergencies.
There is also a way to contact the webmaster on the site if there are questions or concerns. Technology integration specialist and data manager Kyle Hine has been working on the website.
Banks said that they will try to keep the site information as up-to-date as possible. He noted that the website is a work-in-progress that will be adjusted as they receive feedback from the public.
The new website’s Internet address is still the same as the one for the old website.
