NARFE raises $1,300 for Alzheimer’s Research
National Active and Retired Federal Employees association-sponsored spaghetti dinner fundraiser neted $1,300 for Alzheimer’s Research.
NARFE Morgan County Chapter #2263 reported that approximately 200 Morgan County and other area residents gathered at American Legion Post #60 on Friday, March 23 to show their support for Alzheimer’s Research by attending the event.
Door prizes were drawn for a wide range of activities and services in and around the Berkeley Springs area.
Door prize sponsors were: the Berkeley Springs State Park, Total Image Hair & Tanning Salon, the Pit Stop Service Center, Tony’s Butcher Block, Panda Restaurant, Fox’s Pizza Den, Angus and Ale Restaurant, Roy’s Service Center, Heaven Sent Cakes and Sweets & Lighthouse Lattes, Dairy Queen, Earth Dog Café, A Kneaded Spa, the Country Inn, Berkeley Springs Bowlerama, Country Roads Restaurant, Temptations Café, Mountain Laurel Gallery, Panorama Restaurant, Bath Beauty Shoppe, the Star Theatre, the Troubadour and the Nature Niche.
Winners were announced for raffles and other prizes.
Other supporters were: American Legion Post 60, the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, the Sons of the American Legion, the Stop and Shop, The Morgan Messenger, Mi Ranchita Restaurant, CJ’s Floral and Gift Shop, WDHC-WCST Radio Station, Lois Walton, Magic Miller, DDS and Jayne Meadows.
As of January 31, the national organization of NARFE reported that members had raised $9.5M for Alzheimer’s Research. The proceeds realized by this event will be added to that amount and goes directly to the Alzheimer’s Association for research.
