Sewer plans subject to hearing for development

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, March 27 about a proposed sewer treatment system for a large residential development planned along U.S. 522 near the Virginia line.

State environmental officials set the hearing to consider the public’s comments about an application that would allow Mountain Springs Utility, LLC to build and operate a sewer plant to serve up to 1,900 residents in southern Morgan County.

The permit would also allow the company to discharge the treated wastewater daily into Sleepy Creek, the nearest waterway.

The hearing will be held on March 27 at 6 p.m. at the Warm Springs Middle School.
