Drill here-Sell here
March 23, 2012
Dear Editor:
With all the talk about gas prices most people don’t realize the U.S. is second only to Saudi Arabia, producing over 10 million barrels each and every day.
Even less people realize that a lot of that “American oil,” “our oil” is sent to other countries- China and Japan.
The oil belongs to the companies, they own it — the U.S. does not — they drill here and sell it there — the difference is made up by importing from the Middle East. This is wrong, if they drill it here they should sell it here, it’s that simple.
Prior to the Iraq War — we were told that the war and a new regime would guarantee-quote, “reliable and affordable gasoline prices into the future.” What happened to that?
