Citizens want answers

Dear Editor:

I am stunned the commissioners rejected the Humane Society proposal. Their proposal was a bargain for the taxpayers of Morgan County. Whatever alternative solution the commissioners come up with will surely cost more than $1 a year.

The Humane Society should be thanked for their efforts and commended for all they have done for the community. Instead the commissioners made matters worse the next day by cutting off their financial support by eliminating their annual $5,000 allotment for their spay and neuter program.

What plan do the commissioners have? It seems they want to sweep the dogs under the carpet and hope that no one notices. That will not happen. The citizens of Morgan County want answers, not commissioners who feel that if they ignore a problem long enough maybe it will go away.
