Rocks N Glass store unveiled

Rocks N Glass is a gallery store located on North Washington Street which sells handpicked glassware and painted rocks for home decoration.

The owner, Khosrow Javid, has a long and storied history with the arts. Having worked in journalism and graphic design for many years, he discovered a passion for painting in his free time.

“Rocks can be like jewelry to me,” Javid said. “There’s something about an intricately painted rock and a nice piece of glassware that really catches the eye.”

Another side of the business is architectural. He plans to work with installers to put tile in living spaces once he has room for the pieces in his shop.

“People spend so much time in their kitchen,” he said. “Why shouldn’t they be able to look at their tile and enjoy it?”

He would like to open another store next door to sell other works, like his paintings and mixed mosaics.
For now, he’s just relieved that he can say that his store is open.

“After spending months making a functional store, I really just want time to enjoy people and read up on art.
Getting more involved with artistry will bring knowledge, and knowledge brings true happiness,” Javid said.

The store is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week and can be contacted at 301-467-9888.
