Fern Hill to speak at Ladies Day

The ninth annual Ladies Inspiration Day will be held at the Berkeley Springs Church of Christ, 290 South Green Street, on Saturday, March 10.

Featured speaker will be Fern Hill, founder and hospitality coordinator of the Timothy Hill Children’s Ranch, located in Riverhead, N.Y.
Her topic will be “Hospitality: Such As I Have.”

In 1972, Hill, and her husband, Jerry Hill, lost their 13 year old son, Timothy, to a tragic accident. In response she wrote and published a book entitled Graduation to Glory, which recounted his life and his dream to help homeless children. Friends and neighbors spontaneously created a memorial fund earmarked “for Timothy’s ranch.” That fund, plus the proceeds from the sale of her book, made possible the actualization of his dream of ranch for homeless boys.

Since the ranch opened its doors in November of 1980, hundreds of boys and their families have been helped. Now in its sixth printing, Hill’s book is still inspiring countless readers to reach out to others.
