Lexa Van Doren Kirk, joined the rank of many local citizens as an AmeriCorps Vista last week when she attended PSO in Atlanta, Ga.

She is being sponsored locally by Starting Points Family Resource Center.
AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is a member program of the AmeriCorps National Service Network.

Participants are men and women age 18 and older who serve full-time for one year. VISTA's apply their knowledge and skills to address critical education, human, public safety and environmental needs at the community level.

Starting Points and WVU Extension will be hosting an Open House on March 11 at Wesley Chapel on Pious Ridge Road from 1-4 p.m. to celebrate National AmeriCorps week.

They welcome anyone who has been an AmeriCorps member, whether serving in Morgan County, another state or another country to join them for light refreshments and to share memories.
