Friends of Cacapon River annual meeting

The Friends of the Cacapon River will hold its annual membership and environmental presentation meeting on February 25 in the Great Cacapon School at 1 p.m.

A presentation on Marcellus Shale Oil Drilling (fracking) will be shown by members of the Hampshire County Marcellus Shale Study Committee. It has been endorsed by the Hampshire County Commissioners and is filled with valuable information for land owners and citizens.

The Friends of the Cacapon provides grants for environmental education, tree planting, river cleanup and awareness of the Cacapon River to the public that uses and lives along the waterway.

Attend to show support of one of the cleanest rivers in the nation and learn about how to keep it that way. The drawing for the kayak fundraiser will be held during the meeting.
