Bigger park, more tourists

I read last week’s letter by Charles Balkan in regard to expanding Cacapon State Park by purchasing 2,000 acres of land from Freeman Companies. I think it is a wonderful idea.

The addition of connecting land would be the perfect addition to the parks improvements. More park land could increase tourism to our community. There could be new hiking trails built and extension added on to already existing trails. Perhaps a campground could be built.

This would provide a tourist element that is missing from our park by providing an additional outdoor activity for families who choose not to stay in a cabin or lodge.

I think the addition of land to our already beautiful Cacapon State Park is a winning idea.
