Arrests made after drug investigation
Twenty-five people were arrested following a month-long investigation by the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crime Task Force into the distribution of prescription drugs in Morgan, Berkeley and Hampshire counties.
The investigation named “Gerbille Glissante” focused on several individuals distributing Oxycodone and Suboxone in all three counties.
During the course of the investigation, it was learned that a subject in Hampshire County was possibly traveling to Florida, picking up the drugs and having residents of Morgan County distribute the drugs from their residences.
Members of the task force made several controlled buys of both Oxycodone and Suboxone in both Morgan and Hampshire counties.
In addition, a large amount of currency, prescription drugs, vehicles, tools and electronics were seized.
The task force was assisted by members of Paw Paw Police Department and West Virginia State Police.
The names of those charged were unavailable at presstime.
