Town election cycles in swing

The Town of Bath candidate filing period started this Monday, and will continue until January 29. Residents wanting to seek one of the five council seats or run for Mayor or Recorder can do so by going to the town municipal center and filling out paperwork and paying the $5 filing fee. All offices serve for two-year terms.

The town election will be held on June 14. Information about the election or running for office is available by calling 304-258-1102. Town clerk Margie Allgyer is the appointed elections official.

As of press time, one candidate had announced they were running for town office. Longtime mayor Susan Webster will run for re-election in this year’s race.

Paw Paw town election
The Town of Paw Paw will also hold an election on June 14. Information about their filing requirements or deadlines weren’t available at press time. Candidates or residents can contact the town office for details at 304-947-7476.
