Great Gray Matter Challenge returns for January 16 event
Trivia players and teams are being recruited for the third Great Gray Matter Challenge on Sunday afternoon, January 16.
The games will take place on 1:30 to 4 p.m. in the Berkeley Springs High School cafeteria. There is no admission fee and all ages can participate.
The Challenge is reminiscent of “Trivial Pursuit,” “Jeopardy” or “It’s Academic,” and is sponsored by the Morgan County Forum for Arts, Sciences & Technologies (FAST).
Players may go as individuals and combine with others to make teams of four to six people, or take a prearranged team.
The teams confer and then write down answers to four sets of true/false, multiple choice or recall questions on mixed topics in arts, sciences, technologies and social studies.
Trophies will be awarded to the winning team members.
Helps literacy projects
Anyone can just watch and eat free popcorn provided by the Star Theatre.
There will be drawings for door prizes of free tickets to the Star and other special items.
For each person who participates in the 2011 Challenge, FAST will add $5 to the Morgan County Literacy Fund to support future literacy projects in the county.
Participants are needed, as are volunteers to help the Morgan County Public Library staff assemble questions during the holidays and tabulate scores on January 16.
